The part about moving mountains is a bit of an exaggeration to be sure, but our new swivel handle wooden mover’s dolly is rated for loads up to 1000 lbs (453 kg). Not that we intend to move that much at one time, but it will be good to have a sturdy dolly handy as we continue to downsize and prepare to get on the road in our condo on wheels.
The dolly and handle came as an easy-to-assemble kit.
Mui ordered the dolly, the handle (optional), and several 72” x 80” (1.8 x 2 m) mover’s blankets from Harbor Freight Tools. We have a very long hallway to navigate in our condo building, so the dolly will be really handy when it comes time to load up the U-haul truck.
Piece of cake to put together.
Yes, Mui did refer to the instructions to put together the final product.
The handle tucks in snugly under the dolly when not in use; it will remain in the storage unit once the downsizing is complete as we don’t foresee a use for it on the road.
So, if anyone is in the area come November, and wants to volunteer a strong back to help with the move, we won’t turn down the offer :-)
good luck with the move - if we were in the area we would be glad to help but I think we will be quite far away by then...
ReplyDeletemoving normally is no fun at all..but your move in November will be very exciting that is for sure..
ReplyDeletewe, too live in a condo and ours is at the end of a long hallway..well not that long but it is when you are carrying a ton of groceries..so we have a little dolly with a big plastic bin on it for doing the 'hard work' of bring the 'groceries' upstairs!
That should work great for moving "a mountain" of stuff into the motor home when the time comes! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteDid you say "Hello" when you got the dolly? ;c)
ReplyDeleteNice to see all the plans falling into place, the dolly sure is an important part of them.
Smart thinking about the dolly. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, that is a handy dandy thingy.
ReplyDeleteSadly, come November we will be in…uuuh….MONGOLIA! Yeah, that’s the ticket… Mongolia.
Always great to see a man wearing a walkie-talkie, makes them easier to summon.
We had a little dolly just like that and it was invaluable when we moved!
ReplyDeleteWe were lucky. Since we had a barn yard, we just pulled Winnona up there and started taking things out and filling her up. When everything was in, off we went.
ReplyDeleteNifty dolly - should help save a backache or two. Let's see...who's on the east coat? Oh I know, I volunteer those snowbirds from Ontario (there are several!). They could just shoot right on down there and give you and Mui a hand ☺!
ReplyDeleteGreat gadget! LOVE gadgets! And a very useful one. And where are you located again? ;-) We're at the point if we ever do a major move again, it's gonna be somebody else's back muscles paying the price moving the big stuff. Shouldn't be much now that we are full time in the motorhome!
ReplyDeleteThat's the type of handy gadget we should have had and didn't. Too late now. Our moving days are over...I hope :)
