Gulf Waters RV Resort — Port Aransas, Texas
Temps: Hi 83F (28C) / LO 77F (25C)
Has this happened to you? Have comments you’ve left disappeared? I just found out that it’s happening to me.
Pam (of Oh, the Places they Go!) left a comment on a recent North Pole posting in my Two to Travel blog asking if I had seen their post about Iceberg Lake. I had; and in fact, I had left a comment. How could I not — it had two of the things I love in life … ice and wildlife (specifically, bears).
Going back to the post in question, I scrolled through the comments … none from me! So I left a second comment in case I had forgotten to hit the submit button; that also disappeared. I then checked a few of the other posts in Pam and John’s blog … no comments with my name on it! I checked a few other blogs I read regularly — albeit not always as timely as I should … none, nada, zip!
I sent Pam an email to assure her I was reading. She wrote back that John checked their spam folder — et voila … my comments were all there.
This has happened to comments left on my blog a few times. In fact, just last week, I fished out a comment from Sue and one from Sherry from my spam comments. They are regular readers, so I have no idea why they ended up in spam. I’ve also had this happen to the comment notification emails I receive.
Anyway … just want to say that it doesn’t hurt to check your spam folder every once in a while. And if you haven’t seen comments from me recently … they just might be sitting there waiting to be fished out ;-)
All your comments are coming through loud and clear at Where's Weaver. We truly appreciate all of them.
ReplyDeleteWell, Erin, your comments have all been posted! I'll be watching when we get around to posting again to see what happens. Very strange! John has marked you as 'Not Spam!" Thanks for all your comments:)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you said something or I might not have realized there was a problem.
DeleteI have found your comments in my spam folder as well. No idea why in the world. Usually the only thing that goes in there are "anonymous". But I do check my spam folder fairly often so they don't linger there.
ReplyDeletewell that was enlightening! While I didn't find any comments from you, I did find many notifications from other bloggers hiding among the "enlarge your...." emails. What a bummer. I guess I will have to pay attention to spam now and I really never went there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteSame here, I've found comments in my spam folder tucked in behind the comments about how I can be a millionaire if I just send all my personal info to an African general...who says he is my dearest friend. ;c)
ReplyDeleteHoly Smokes you were buried in my over thousand spam! Glad you mentioned it for I regularly empty my spam without checking. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your comic strip, I can relate ha ha ha .
I never check spam , guess I better get on that. You haven't gotten any from me in a long time because I've been ridiculously behind in my reading. On vacation now and finally getting caught up while I wairt for my pics to load using the world's slowest campground wifi!
