Our Phaeton wanders no more!
Fear not; I don’t mean that we won’t be wandering around North America as planned. We still intend to do that, but as we drive the highways and byways, we will be doing so with improved steering play and wander. The SuperSteer SS100 Bell Crank will see to that.
I could enumerate all the reasons and explanations Mui gave me when he said he wanted to have this bell crank installed. In all honesty, my eyes glazed over as he talked and I tuned him out. So, I’ll refer you to the SuperSteer website instead. All I know is that Mui was happy with the results of the install as he drove the backroads today to return the Phaeton to storage, and expects to see even better performance when we next roll down the highway.
Anything that tightens up the steering has got to be a good thing!! Glad to hear you are still going to wander though...

ReplyDeleteYou guys are going to be so much better prepared than anyone I know of by the time you hit the road. I'm actually going to try to read about this and see if I can not glaze over. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteI'm already glazed over, but I think it's the heat! :) Kind of feel like one of those rotisserie chickens in the grocery store. :(
ReplyDeleteI hear you ... we had feels like 110F temps here today ... I used work as an excuse to stay inside in A/C comfort.

whew! You really scared me with that first sentence. I won't go to the website since I'm sure my eyes would glaze over also. Hey, if Mui's happy, I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Never heard of a Bell Crank but we do have a Steer Safe installed and I imagine it's much the same. Rick says it make a LOT of difference!
ReplyDeleteHere's to all the "better" that will come from the bell crank. I have to tell you that I've never even heard those two words used together before! I'd have glazed over too! Take care and hope you have a great 4th.
