The DAY is at Hand

Friday, 30 November

This is what was on my blog when I took a peek at it this morning. Yes; the day has arrived! By 3:00p today, I will be officially retired ... or, since I am below the official retirement age, I will at least be out of the workforce.

Mui's official last day with DHS is not until the end of December, but he turned in his badge and keys yesterday and is on what is called terminal leave ... they could have a better description of his status, but what matters is that he's out of the daily work routine and doesn't have to go back into the office to complete the formalities.  That's a good thing since we will be flying the coop and heading south on Tuesday, 4 December.

Tonight we will have the first of the many sleeps of our fulltiming gypsy lifestyle in our rolling condo.

Update:

Had to come back and post a link to the retirement tribute my friend MBZ put up for us on her blog.

  6. Hoo RAY! You made it to the promised land!! And believe me it's just like heaven. You are going to love love love it.

Thanks for your comments on my blog. Wanted to let you know that few if any state parks have full hook ups. At least in the states I've been to. They do have water and electric and dump station. That's true at Hunting Island and you will have no trouble as far as I can see dropping in on December 4. Plenty of sites. Just wish we were still going to be here. We have to leave on Tuesday the 4th by noon. SHOOT!!

We're off to Gamble Rogers in Florida on the Atlantic Coast south of St. Augustine for two weeks. Any chance you might be coming that way?

    1. I guess we're spoiled by BRRP ... but that's a reguional park and that might be the difference. Not a problem anyway ... we can make do without a sewer hookup for at least a week -- longer if we're careful and use park facilities. Too bad about missing each other this time; but I'm sure someday our paths will cross.
